Pastor Dorothy A. Palmer
February 6, 1931 - August 23, 2021


Pastor Dorothy Palmer was born on February 6, 1931 in Kennett Square Pa to James and Harriet Scott. She attended and graduated from the Kennett Square High school and Full Gospel Bible Institute. She met and married Willie Lee Palmer. She was employed by the West Chester School District and Served as a Pastor for the Fire Baptized Holiness church (Highway Tabernacle, Fort Hill and St. Peter) for over 20 years. After moving to Jacksonville she maintained her membership with the FBH church but was in fellowship with the Open Arms Community Church of Jacksonville FL. Her famous saying was: “Thank God for this great salvation and thank God for the opportunity to choose where I spend eternity. Thank God for giving me the opportunity to choose where I spend eternity and I choose to spend it with the Lord. Pastor Palmer was a mother to all and was loved by all she came in contact with because of her warm personality and Loving spirit.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Willie Lee Palmer, her son Mark Palmer, her sisters Harriet Ruff, Mary Murray, Margaret Hilton, brother Elder James Scott.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ronald, William, Martin, and Carletta. Daughter in law: Felicia, Marilyn and Patricia. Grand children: Marquisha, Deandria, Christian, Isaiah, Braxton, Martin Jr., Preston, Brittany, Arielle, Nazirah, Xavier and Tyler. Sisters: Berniece and Martha, brother-in-law William. 17 great grandchildren and a host of niece and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00PM in the Open Arms Christian Fellowship. Visitation will be held the day of service from 12:00PM until the hour of service. Interment will be held in the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
